Background
The antibody to TTF-1 is well suited for the detection of the nuclear protein in thyroid gland epithelia and in lung epithelia. TTF-1 is typically found in primary lung adenocarcinoma and in Small Cell Lung Carcinoma (SCLC).The antibody doesn't react with mamma carcinoma and colon carcinoma (1,2). Therefore the antibody can be used as an adjunct for differential diagnosis of lung carcinoma. TTF-1 is a member of the NKx2 family of transcription factors. TTF1 is encoded by Homöobox-Gen NK2 homeobox 1 (NKX2-1). It is exprimed by cell nuclei of epithelial cells of the thyroid glands and the lung. It is usually not found in cell nuclei of the liver, stomach, pancreas, intestine, kidney, breast, skin, testis, pituitary, and prostate as well as inter-renal and adrenal glands (1). For pre-treatment we recommend Biologo's Unmasking Fluid G on glycol basis (Art. No. DE007) at high temperature.

Purification Method
Antibody solution in stabilizing phosphate buffer pH 7.3. Contains 0.09 % sodium azide**. The volume is sufficient for at least 50 immunohistochemical tests (100 µl working solution / test). Use appropriate antibody diluent e.g. BIOLOGO Art .No. PU002.
