The antibody against CDX2 is well suited for the detection of the product in cell nuclei and in tissue extracts. CDX2 is a homeobox-gen encoding for an intestinal transcription factor, which is exprimed by nuclei of intestinal epithelial cells especially in the rectum and duodenum. It is over-expressed in colorectal carcinoma and related metastases. It was also identified in metaplasia of the stomach and in carcinoma of the gut.
