Streptavidin : Peroxidase

Catalogue number: ZU054

Units0.5 mg
Application ELISA
Western Blotting

Our streptavidin peroxidase conjugate was produced by a coupling reaction which guarantees the preservation of high enzymatic activity. The conjugate is well suited for binding and detection of all kinds of biotinylated proteins like antibodies, antigens, or lectins in histological tissue slices, cell preparations as well as on membranes and microtiter plates. Streptavidin is a 60 kDa protein consisting of 4 identical subunits. Each of these subunits contains a binding domain for Biotin. Streptavidin is isolated from Streptomyces avidinii and is very similar in its binding behaviour to Avidin isolated from chicken egg protein. The avidity of Streptavidin to Biotin is lower than that of Avidin, however it doesn't contain carbohydrate side chains which are disadvantageous in respect of non-specific binding to proteins. Binding to Biotin and Biotin conjugates.

Conjugate in buffer solution containing Merthiolate** as a preservative

Purification Method: Conjugate in buffer solution containing Merthiolate** as a preservative

Concentration: 1 mg/ml

Secondary Reagents: Suitable substrates for peroxidase reaction in IHC are AEC (3-Amino-9-Ethyl-Carbazol) Art. No. AE002 and DAB (3,3'-Diaminobenzidin) Art. No. DA002 which result in red and brown colours respectively.

Incubation Time: 15-30 min

Working Concentration: (liquid conc.) dilute 1:100 - 1:1000

These products are intended for in vitro research use only. They must not be used for clinical diagnostics and not for in vivo experiments in humans or animals. ** The preservative thimerosal (Merthiolate) is known to be poisonous and potentially hazardous to health. It should be handled only by trained staff. Despite of the product's low azide concentration it must be handled with care. Dispose according to regional rules!
