Application ELISA
Immunocytochemistry,Immunohistochemistry (frozen),(In)direct immunofluorescence.

Anti-Human Immunodeficiency Virus Reverse Transcriptase is an antibody meant to target the Reverse Transcriptase (RT) efficiency in HIV infections. RT allows the viral RNA to be transcribed to host DNA and synthesize new DNA composed of the virusÕ genome. Because RT also exhibits RNaseH activity, it enables the production of a DNA/RNA hybrid used for synthesis. Additionally, it can cause errors during transcription, creating difficulties in isolating the virus and promoting further infection.

Immunogen: Recombinant immuno-deficiency virus reverse transcriptase (HIV- RT).

Product Form: Biotin

Formulation: Provided as a 0.2µm sterile-filtered solution in Ca++ & Mg++ free Dulbecco's PBS with 0.08% sodium azide.

Purification Method: Protein A/G Chromatography

Purity: ?95%

Concentration: See vial for concentration

Applications: ELISA: The biotin form of this antibody has been used as solution phase Ab at 2 ug/ml in a two site ELISA with AS34. Typically the ELISA has a working range of 2-500 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <1 ng/ml HIV-RT. Recommended sample volumes are 50-200 ml. Immunoprecipitation: This antibody has been used to immunoprecipitate > 90% HIV-RT in solution using a double-antibody method (Midgley and Hepburn). Immunoprecipitation has also been accomplished using Protein G agarose.

Functional Analysis: ELISA

Positive Control: Specificity: Recognizes an epitope on HIV-RT that is different from AS34 epitope.

Product should be stored at -20ºC. Aliquot to avoid freeze/thaw cycles

Product Stability: Products are stable for one year from purchase when stored properly

Ship Conditions: Room Temperature
