Product Highlight

Mouse anti-M13 phage coat protein g8p

Antibodies recognising M13 filamentous phage coat proteins are instrumental in the selection and detection of phages expressing specific antibody fragments or peptide sequences at their surface. The monoclonal antibodies manufactured and supplied by Exalpha react with either the pIII (g3p) or pVIII (g8p) proteins of M13 filamentous bacteriophage. All antibodies are available in a purified format. The antibodies are fully validated and are suitable for a wide range of techniques including:

  • ELISA
  • Flow Cytometry
  • Western Blot
  • Immunohistochemistry
  • Immunoprecipitation

Background

The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc subunit of the IgG molecule which expresses strict isotypic (class) specificity. It does not react with any non-Ig protein in monkey serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In enzyme-immunocytochemical and immunohistochemical staining for the detection of IgG at the cellular and subcellular level by staining of appropriately treated cell and tissue substrates; to demonstrate circulating IgG antibodies in serodiagnostic microbiology and autoimmune diseases; to identify a specific antigen using a reference antibody of monkey origin known to be of the IgG isotype in the middle layer of the indirect test procedure; in non-isotopic assay methodology (e.g. ELISA) to measure IgG in monkey serum or other body fluids. This immunoconjugate is not pre-diluted. The optimum working dilution of each conjugate should be established by titration before being used. Excess labelled antibody must be avoided because it may cause high unspecific background staining and interfere with the specific signal. Working dilutions for histochemical and cytochemical use are usually between 1:100 and 1:500; in ELISA and comparable non-precipitating antibody-binding assays between 1:5,000 and 1:20,000.

Product Usage

Horseradish peroxidase-conjugated IgG fraction of polyclonal Goat antiSerum to Monkey IgG, Fc specific.

Product Type

Secondary Antibodies

Applications

ELISA,Immunocytochemistry,Immunohistochemistry (paraffin),Dot blot,Immunoblotting

Fields of Interest

Veterinary

Product Source

Purified normal IgG isolated from pooled rhesus monkey serum. Freund

Product Formulation

Horseradish peroxidase-coupled purified hyperimmune goat IgG lyophilized from a solution in phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). No preservative added, as it may interfere with the antibody activity.

Product Specificity

Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Precipitation reactions have been observed with IgG in Serum of other old-world Monkeys, including Cercopithecus, Cynomolgus and Baboon. The conjugate may also react with IgG of other species as has been observed for Chimpanzee and man.

Storage Conditions

The lyophilized conjugate is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4
